Commercial Photography Headshots in Dayton, Ohio
by Andrea Doziér
Dayton seems like such an unpretentious, quiet little town. We've been accused of being boring with "not much going on here." The more I get involved with photographing local entrepreneurs, the more I am impressed with the fantastic people who are putting this city on the map.
Recently I connected with Lea, creator & founder of "Pig of the Month BBQ," a nationwide mail order barbeque retailer. We talked (& laughed) over coffee in our hometown Vandalia. I loved hearing about how she & her family started this company. Founded in 2010, Pig of the Month BBQ "sends happiness by way of perfectly cooked BBQ, bacon, pulled pork and more right to your front door." There is also an assortment of gourmet items you can purchase for yourself or as a gift, like chocolate covered bacon or their famous BBQ sauces. Some of her celebrity customers are Whoopi Goldberg, Iron Chef Michael Symon, Paula Deen, Stephen Colbert, and Chelsea Handler. Not too shabby!
They call Lea the "head hog," but she's a total babe.
Lea's story is what #GirlBoss memoirs are made of- a dismal first job paired with a beautiful CEO who isn't afraid to roll up her sleeves and get to work. Miss Richards is a UD graduate who left her Wall Street career because she "hated it." She laughs about the experience and notes that her parents probably wondered about her sanity at that point. She doesn't seem very surprised by the success of Pig of the Month BBQ, because she owns up to the years of hard work she has put into it. It's clear that she is a woman who understands herself, and I love exposing that part of her confidence in her pictures.
We opted for Dayton's Oregon District for her portraits because of its variety & because I try to encourage my clients to get there as much as I possibly can. Love Lea's fashion (J Crew) & miss this fall weather! Within a short walk, we found all the color and texture we could want for a backdrop in Dayton. Lea looked gorgeous & the whole town thought so. I've never been stopped so often during a shoot to have all sorts of people wanting their picture with my model! We had fun. :)
Thanks for joining me today! You might recognize some of my favorite buildings and shops in the pictures. The kind folks at Press allowed us to hang out and capture a few images in their coffee shop on Wayne Avenue. It was so hot we had to take a break & grab a cool drink, something we miss very much these winter days around here.
